Mashed Potato Time
(Mashed potato, it's the greatest
Mashed potato) Yeah, yeah, yeah
The mashed potato started long time ago
With a guy named Sloppy Joe
You'll find this dance is so cool to do
Come on, baby, gonna teach it to you
(Mashed potato) Yeah, oh, hear that groovy beat now
(Mashed potato) Yeah, come on and twist your feet now, baby
(It's the greatest) Come on, honey
(It's the greatest) Come on, baby
(Mashed potato) Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
And then this dance just grew and grew
They looked for records, they could do it, too
They found this dance is out of sight
So when the lion sleeps tonight
(Mashed potato) Yeah, oh, way more better, way more better
(Mashed potato) Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah
(It's the greatest) Come on, baby
(It's the greatest) Come on, honey
(Mashed potato) Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Now everybody is a-doin' fine
They dance along from a big coastline
And they discovered it's most grand
That they did it to please Mr. Postman
(Mashed potato) Yeah, oh, wait a minute, wait a minute
(Mashed potato) Oh, deliver the letter
(It's the greatest) Come on, baby
(It's the greatest) Come on, honey
(Mashed potato) Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Well, they got with it more and more
You ought to see them 'round the floor
The mashed potato was on their list
They even do the twist
(Mashed potato) Yeah, get up from your chair now
(Mashed potato) Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah
(It's the greatest) Come on, baby
(It's the greatest) Come on, honey
(Mashed potato) Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
(Wah-ooh)
(Wah-ooh)
(Wah-ooh)
